Ingredients
Soup:
- 1 whole chicken or 4 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tsp poultry seasoning
- Salt & pepper
Dumplings:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
Instructions
- Boil chicken with veggies and seasoning until tender.
- Remove chicken, shred, and return to pot.
- Mix dumpling dough and drop spoonfuls into simmering broth.
- Cover and cook 15 minutes.
- Serve warm — pure Southern comfort in a bowl.
