Best Chicken Caesar Salad – Fresh, Crunchy & Restaurant-Style at Home

Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the Salad

  • 1 large head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup croutons (homemade or store-bought)
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh cracked black pepper (optional garnish)

For the Caesar Dressing (Homemade Optional)

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt & pepper to taste
    (Or use your favorite bottled Caesar dressing.)

Directions

1. Season & Cook the Chicken

  1. Pat chicken breasts dry and season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Cook chicken for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (165°F internal temperature).
  4. Remove from heat, let rest 5 minutes, then slice into strips.

2. Make the Caesar Dressing (Optional)

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon, Worcestershire, garlic, and Parmesan.
  2. Taste and adjust salt and pepper as needed.
  3. Refrigerate until ready to use.

3. Build the Salad

  1. Add chopped romaine to a large mixing bowl.
  2. Toss with Caesar dressing until lettuce is lightly coated.
  3. Add croutons and Parmesan, tossing gently.
  4. Top with sliced chicken.
