Ingredients
Grits:
- 1 cup stone-ground grits
- 4 cups water or broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt to taste
Shrimp:
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt & pepper
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil; whisk in grits. Cook until thick and creamy.
- Stir in milk, butter, cheddar, and salt.
- Cook bacon until crispy; remove and chop.
- In bacon drippings, sauté garlic 30 seconds.
- Add shrimp, paprika, salt, pepper, and cook 2–3 minutes.
- Stir in lemon juice.
- Serve shrimp over creamy grits and top with bacon.
